life rearranged

It’s Friday again! Linking up with Jeanette at Life Rearranged today and sharing my week in Instagram photos.

My new friend.

Last Saturday was a big day for me. I brought home my new 27″ iMac. It makes me all happy inside. :)

Just fits.

My husband & I decided to make a full morning of it (no kids) & followed computer buying with coffee, a good long walk on an amazingly gorgeous spring day, and a finale of the BEST tacos at our favorite little hole-in-the-wall taco shop in our old neighborhood. Time very well-spent, all around.

I was even given a head-start home with the new computer while Nate picked the girls up so I could get it set up without “help.”
He’s so good to me!

Coffee date with @gritfuelnate :) Coffee, walking & enjoying this beautiful spring day with @gritfuelnate We're making a full morning of it. Now at our favorite taco shop. @gritfuelnate On a scale of 1-10, how excited am I allowed to be? Also, is it weird if I leave the protective plastic on? We like having neighbors.

The other night we did something we’ve NEVER done. We sat in our driveway while our girls ran back & forth down the sidewalk with the other neighbor kids. It was amazing. Now that the weather is getting warm, we’re finally getting a chance to see all of the kids that backyard play-sets alluded to. We were in heaven!

The night before a large-ish group of boys were running all over our side of the street, through some empty lots behind our house, around our house, used our front porch as a short-cut & all around had us feeling surrounded & a bit overwhelmed by such innocent, chaotic fun! At first, I was like, what in the world is going on & got a little upset. I had to quickly put myself in check though & remind myself that the racket wasn’t being created by “hoodlums” (yes, hoodlums.) but by young boys being young boys & acting exactly the way that had drawn us to the area.

I didn’t live in the city for that long, but over and over I see so many ways that I have become affected by that environment. I’m having to let go of quite a bit of my over-protectiveness. :) Before we had sort of taught the girls that you don’t play in the front yard because someone might take you (a bit of an extreme scenario, but it proved effective when reasoning with a 2-year old). Now the front yard gets more play time than the back most days! (Of course, first we had to UN-teach the getting taken bit. . .apparently it was more effective than we even realized.)

Sunset. Our duvet comforter just became a tent.

During my shower this morning my duvet cover was hijacked & turned into a tent.
Better than whining that they want to watch TV I suppose.

So hard to leave.

Do you realize how hard it is to leave for work when you have these 2 cuties smiling & waving at you? I’m tellin’ you! There’s a reason I’m never there quite on time!

Oranges!!

The girls discovered the joy of an orange slice smile.

Hope  you had a good week too & that your weekend, and mine, goes a little slower than the week!

xoxo Lori Danelle
