Let the Fall Festivites Begin!

I don’t know when it happened. . .
Strike that.
I know exactly when it happened.
When I became a Mom with kids old enough to know what was going on around them (ie, 1 year old).

I don’t know about you, but October has become an insanely crazy month in my life!
Busier than December!!
I didn’t think that was possible.

We are so busy with Fall/Halloween parties and events that we’ve already opted to not go to 4 very fun events. (Don’t tell the girls. They’re still just young enough not to know!)

This weekend was the first of it though. One of Big’s friends from school had a party at her house complete with a bounce house, so how could we possibly say no??

Big did her 5 minutes of mandatory shyness & then jumped right in with complete gusto. And then Little, of course, did what ever her big sister did.

The bounce house had a big slide in it which took Little a bit to master. The other older kids were funny. There tended to be a traffic jam behind her as one of them tried to coach her up with the others did their best to get around them both. But they traded roles so it was never just one of them being impatient.

This next week & weekend are full to the brim with festivities!

A movie worth writing about

So who knows what movie came out on DVD this week that I am COMPLETELY geeking out over?

That’s right.
Disney’s Beauty & the Beast.
We bought it for the girls.

Anyone really believe that?
I didn’t think so.

We bought it for the girls so that I could have an excuse to watch it.

Somehow, I missed it the last time it was on DVD and only have a VHS version. . . and no VHS player. So I’ve been anxiously awaiting it’s return. . .along with all the others from that generation of Disney movies.

Somehow, I just don’t think that part of me ever quite grew up. . . Nor do I want it to.

Oh, and yes, the girls are enjoying it as well, although they do keep telling me to stop singing.

Giraffe T-shirt day!

This morning, completely by coincidence, the females at my house each independently declared it giraffe t-shirt day. And of course, we all thought that was a pretty fun thing, which needed to be celebrated with photos.

Umm. . . Big likes to make silly faces when I take her picture lately.

You should be really impressed with this one! Not only am I in a photo in my own blog post, but it was taken by Big!! The others she took we of my feet, the trees, the house across the street. . .you get the idea.

And one more because they’re just so darn cute!!

Right now, I should be in bed. Especially since my alarm clock is set to go off in 4 hours.
Can you believe it?
An alarm clock on a Saturday?!
And at 5 am!

However, it will be worth it as we will be hopping a plane to KS for my (not-so-little) little brother’s wedding next Friday. So excited!!!! And if you are in the area I’m headed to, I hope we get a chance to say hi. . .not sure how busy the bride & groom are going to keep me with projects. . . But if there are projects, I promise to have photos for you!

I hope you are now reading this over a leisurely cup of coffee at an enviably late morning hour and are still in you pjs, having just gotten out of bed.

After an hour in the make up chair

The last couple of days have been interesting! Once again, I have found myself involved in projects at work that just don’t fit into a normal day at the office.

Myself & 3 of my co-workers were recruited as actors for a 2 day video and photography shoot for an upcoming product that my company is developing. So each morning I spend an hour (it probably wasn’t quite that long, but I’m really not sure. Could have been!) in the make up chair as the very talented Susannah transformed me into this:

It was actually a lot of fun to have my hair done and get to look like real girl! ( I RARELY, if ever wear make up!!) When I came home, I had a hard time taking off the make up and jumping in the shower because I wasn’t quite ready for it to end!

Today at work, though it was really nice to have smooth hair, I really just wished I had on some make up and felt pretty!! So this evening, I made a stop and picked up some supplies.
I now own hair spray.
I know.
I’m a girl. I’m supposed to have that.

And now I do. Plus a few other things.
We’ll see how I do.

However, chances are, you’ll never see that girl up there again.
Oh well! It was nice while it lasted.
